Batman: DC Comic Legend ∞

Batman: DC Comic Legend ∞
Batman, Bruce Wayne, a caped crusader who fights crime and the forces of evil. One of the greatest detectives in the comic book series of DC. Well Bruce Wayne was an ordinary kid until he watched his parents get murdered in cold blood outside of a theater. Batman, is an inspiration even if he isn’t real he created a theory that from pain can come some good. He is an idol, the batman symbolizes how you can come from darkness and still rise as a hero. You can become who you want. He proves that from hardships you can be someone you are proud of. In the comics it shows that he has relationships outside of just being the Batman, he can be Bruce Wayne eccentric billionaire who helps out charities and does his part for humanity. Bruce Wayne shows that he is loving and caring and doesn’t give up and will lose everything if necessary. Well for me Batman taught me that you’re never alone in whatever you do, there is someone out there caring for you, a place you can call home, a bright light to end a deep dark tunnel. It proves you can achieve what you want. Batman was something, someone I can look at and respect. Even if he wasn’t real or just a character, he showed me courage, strength, perseverance, equality, loving and to be yourself, to believe in what you want and stick to it, don’t ever let go of your dreams to become the person you want. He taught me to be me.

Note-Taking Strategies
Part 3
After Class                                                                                        As soon as class ends, review your notes and fill in any blanks.      Underline, highlight and use symbols to sort through the information. If you don’t understand something, get help from your teacher or classmates.                                                                                             After you’ve reviewed all your notes from class, in the left-hand area of the page write down key words and questions your teacher might ask on a test.                                                                                                                 At the bottom of each page, write a summary of the notes. This helps you digest what you’ve learned. It also improves your memory of the material for the long term and for tests down the road.

Student Success Statement: Woodrow Wilson

Student Success Statement
“Tell me what is right and I will fight for it.”
Woodrow Wilson
Reflection: Well Mr. Wilson believes you need to be told what is right and stick to it. But what if what you are being told to fight for isn't right? You need to make decisions on your own not based on what someone else wants you can’t live your life and say to yourself that you need to do what someone else does because they think it is right. You need to do what you want and be your own person. Believe in what you desire, fight for what you love, and never give up. Always do what’s right, be yourself, be you.

Distance Education: Is a Virtual Classroom for You? Part 4

Distance Education: Is a Virtual Classroom for You?
Part 4
Emphasis on the Written Word                                                Most of the communication, as well as the course work, in distance-learning classes is written. That’s a plus, because the focus on the written word gives you the opportunity to develop as a writer – and strong writing skills are essential to academic success. However, if writing is a serious weakness for you, virtual learning may not be the best educational option until you improve your skills. Yes, most of distance education is the written word; therefore, you need to be a good reader, love to read, and love writing also. Most of your assignments will be written and submitted to the instructor in the written format. Your penmanship needs to be excellent, spelling great, sentence structure above average, vocabulary extraordinary. You need to have online access with reliable equipment. If your Internet communications at home isn’t working, you can’t do online education from home and will need to go someplace where you do have access to the Internet.
Decide Whether It’s Right for You                                             Distance education isn’t for everyone, but it just might be for you. You really should seek it out and give it a try. You never know until you try. You might even fall in love with distance education. While distance education may be the perfect alternative for some students, it’s not the right choice for everyone. So carefully consider your unique needs and interests and give distance education a try; then, decide if it is right for you.

Student Success Statement:Reverend Robert Craig

Student Success Statement
“You must live in the present in order to secure your future.”
Reverend Robert Craig
Reflection: Well what Mr. Craig is trying to say is when you want to become someone you need to start and make it happen at any age to get a good school to make sure you get into something to make you do what you want, to ensure you will make it to be what you want. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise if that’s what you want to do, but to make it a reality you need to work hard, trifle adversity and become who you need to be to ensure you will become what you want.

Challenging Aspects of Distance Education
·     Lack of in-person interaction: Some Educators argue that both teacher-student and student-student contact are essential to learning. In a distance-learning classroom, you may be able to participate in class discussions online in chat rooms, message boards or Web conferences – but it’s not the same as being with other students in a classroom.
·      Different levels of quality: Many distance-education programs supply an excellent learning experience, but others may not. Research any program before signing in to make sure it’s rigorous enough. If you are choosing your own program, look into its accreditation before enrolling.
·      The need to self-start: Distance education lets you make your own schedules. If you have a hard time getting motivated, this might not be the ideal education for you.
