._. Green Aid, and being thankful

Green Aid Fundraiser Reflection

  1. What could you have done to better take advantage of learning experiences offered by being involved with this fundraiser? I would have maybe done a better job at selling, I could have maybe gone to even more places, and asked a few members of my family to participate to get the word spread.
  2. What could the adults around you have done to help you get more out of this fundraising experience? I think they could have listened, and not ignore what I was saying because when I was selling lots of people ignored me and kept walking. They should have at least stopped and asked about it, not just be a bad person and walk away.
Be Thankful For What You Have
  1. What are you thankful for? I am thankful that my family is healthy, and that my family comes together. I am also thankful that I can spend the days with my brothers and parents.
  2. Who helps you? Helps? One does not help another, they give advice. And its only my grandma, mother, and dad.
  3. How can you help others? Every year me and my brother volunteer at a shelter and provide food for the less fortunate.

Death of a 5th Grader :cc

The poor 5th grader died. Joanna Ramos, 10 years of age, and look she died due to head trauma. The way she went was unfortunate, the poor girl was stuck in the midst's of fighting, all due to a boy. The girl was in a fight, and after she suffered a blunt-force trauma. The girl than died at 9 p.m. The way she died, was very unfortunate, she didn't deserve to die that young. It was all caused by a boy, she didn't have to fight for him, the only punishment there is now is for the boy and girl she fought, all the guilt. Those two kids will have to realize that they need to act properly, to refuse fights, especially over the boy. The kids also shouldn't be harassed as criminals, the kids are young they don't know what they're doing. The best thing for everyone in that situation is to grow, and make sure that doesn't happen again, to start a fund for the girl, to stop fights.

Student Success Stories: Part 1

Student Success Stories
Part 1
Kate Watkins, a standout Storm volleyball player for two years, now spends her free time studying to be a nurse at DCCC where she says she applies of the concepts she learned on the court.
“Just like volleyball, nursing can be tough,” said Watkins, a 21-year-old who works in teams with her classmates in problem-based nursing exercises. “I learned that everyone has different strengths and brings something different to the table. I also learned that we have to respect each other.”
Watkins is a May 2012 candidate to receive her Associate Degree in Nursing. She hopes to pursue her B.S.N. at Winston-Salem State University and eventually get her master’s degree in nursing.
Setting educational goals and working hard to achieve them brings a great feeling of accomplishment. It builds self-esteem, and increases self-confidence. Education opens up many doors of opportunity that normally would not open up for people.

My Future

My future, I am a successful Psychiatrist and tattoo artist. I have a houses around the world. I am an Entrepreneur, I can pay off whatever dept my parents owe, and buy them a new house. I am 25, and no kids. I would like to travel the world, tasting the foods of every country, learning as much as I can about the science of medicine. After a few years I will have 2 to 3 kids. I would like to help out all the causes I can before my kids are born, I would like to be well known as an activist for the future of our society, as a great tattoo artist, as a well known scholar, as a rather fictitious character so to speak. I would like to be someone who changed lives, i would like to be not only a psychiatrist, mother, entrepreneur, and tattoo artist. I would like to be remembered as a great person, not for my roles, as Rosie. But for the way I was. The way of carefree, simple, and on your own. I would like to be known as a role model. I lived my life, and everyone should live there own, I would want my life to be a guide to others, showing what you CAN do. I do want to be someone that can be able to do it because I learned from mistakes, I was not only a good person, but i was real, I wasn't some dumb movie actor and my life was fake. I want to be someone who was real, who wasn't lying to others about my life, to be an open book, to know my own limitations, and there was none. At my funeral i would like people to say, "Yes, she lived her life. Was it perfect? No, but in the end, she was happy with what she did."

Student Success Statement: Author Unknown

Student Success Statement
“The secret to achieve true success is found in your daily routine.”
-Author Unknown
Reflection: This quote just means that if you want to be successful it all starts in what you do on a daily basis. You can’t just run a marathon, you need to train. You have to train in order to achieve, how would you be anywhere in life if you don’t train it doesn’t necessarily apply to sports it applies to anything. You have to train in studying to be able to pass a certain test. You are trained as a child in your motor skills, and with grammar. Success can only be brought to those who train and preserve to attain it. To be the best at what you do, to show the good in yourself.

How to Always Succeed in School: Part 8

How to Always Succeed in School
Part 8
·       Many people avoid making decisions their whole lives, so their decisive faculty of mind, the faculty of discrimination, becomes rusty and dies. Such people become totally dependent on others. When we study the four functions of the mind -- buddhi, the faculty of decisiveness; ego,, the principle of identity; chitta, the storehouse of impressions; and manas, the importer and exporter of sensations and experience -- then we become aware of the power of will. Will power is that something within us that comes forward and says, “Do this. It will be helpful for you.” Training the internal functions help us understand the decisive faculty of the mind, without which we cannot be successful.
·     Watch what you do on a daily basis. We become what we do and think about. If you think about nothing-you will become nothing. If you think about being a great student-you will become a great student. If you think about being honest-you will be honest. The activities and thoughts that fill your day are keys to living successfully in school and throughout your adult life.

Issues In my Community

Issues that this community face are the fact that there are many families in need. There are many faults in the society everywhere. But here there is the way families are in need.

The things we need to do to help out the families are more health care packages. These families are in need and every little bit counts. We also should set up more funds for kids in need. Kids are the future of the Earth and with them being in a rut there should be help. We need to set up care packages, more school funds. It would help the success rate of kids in poverty to achieve.
